CALL for ENTRIES:
One Billion Rising
One in three women, or an estimated one billion women, will be physically abused in her lifetime. Polk State College is calling for artwork concerning Women’s Rights and ending violence against women, from every perspective. The gallery is accepting submissions that expose both the stories of violence and also the victories in overcoming violence. Artist interpretations of this topic can be abstract or literal. They want to see stories of struggle, empowerment, and victory.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists
MEDIA: Open to all media
DEADLINE: December 30, 2013
NOTIFICATION: January 7, 2014
ENTRY FEE: $5 per entry per student. $10 per entry per non-student. Maximum of 10 entries per artist.
JUROR: Claire Orologas, Executive Director of the Polk Museum of Art
AWARDS: Award Ribbons for Best in Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and honorable mention. No monetary awards will be given, all entry fees will be a charitable donation.
SALES: Artist receives 70% for any sales. 30% commission will be a donated to the Women’s Resource center and Peace River center equally.
