Yes, we have all heard that carrots are good for your eyes. But, the truth is that carrots contain beta carotene which the body converts to Vitamin A which is good for eye health. But, if a honey and ginger glaze is not enough to get you to eat carrots, never fear. Leaf greens, oily fish like tuna, eggs, nuts and even citrus will help keep your eyes healthy as well. CALL for ENTRIES:
Eyesights 2014
In 2010, the Guild of Creative Art proudly celebrated fifty years of service as the oldest and largest art community in New Jersey.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists
MEDIA: Photography–traditional, digital or combination of both. Entry and judging categories: Monochrome and Color photography.
DEADLINE: February 12, 2014
NOTIFICATION: On February 24, 2014 a list of artists and artwork conditionally accepted* into the exhibit will be posted on the Guild’s website at www.guildofcreativeart.org.
ENTRY FEE: Non-members – $25 for 1, $35 for 2 & $45 for 3. Guild members – $15 for 1, $25 for 2 & $35 for 3.
JURORS: Robert & Elisabeth McKay own and operate the McKay Imaging Photography Studio and Gallery in Red Bank, New Jersey.
AWARDS: Best in Show – $300; Best in Category (Monochrome, Color) – $200 each category; Honorable Mention medals; Guild Award for Artistic Innovation – $100; additional merit awards to be considered for: macro, landscape, people, places, botanical, animals & still life. All award winners will receive medals. The judges will make awards based on the actual framed artwork submitted, not on the JPG.
SALES: The Guild receives a 33 1/3 % commission on all sales.
