It is a happy, shiny New Year, and I am excited about the possibilities. Per usual, I am optimistic about the future… nauseatingly optimistic, according to my husband Jon.  However, most folks will also tell you that my attitude toward life is often like my taste in food…direct, unapologetic and undiplomatic. Can food be unapologetic and undiplomatic?  Absolutely. Have you ever met a cheese named Limberger? That sort of straight forwardness is what drew me to this next Call.  Investigate…

Check out the Call for Entries from the Light, Space & Time Gallery for their online Landscapes competition. You know that I am not a huge fan of online competitions; however, I think of this as digital publication which is always a good thing. The entry fee is dirt cheap, and the value of inbound links to your website is priceless. Take a look…

I love restaurants that reuse old builings and give them life with love and a whole lotta food.  The exposed beams make my fried chicken even more of a comfort food, and modern loft-style architecture makes my deconstructed food seem all the more elevated and intellectual.  Where we eat affects the taste of what we eat.  It just does.  Don’t you feel yourself gaining the pounds everytime you eat in front of the television?  Me too.  This Call asks you to further explore your connection to the buildings in your life.  Take a look…

Sometimes it take me multiple tries to learn a lesson.  For example, I am not a good baker.  It has taken many failed attempts at breads, muffins and biscuits for me to come to grips with this unfortunate reality.  And lately, the same is true with art.  How many times do I have to watch my friends and collegues revel in their successful publication attempts and the resulting opportunitites before I quit missing out?  No more for me.  And, that is why I keep beating the egg of art publication over and over…because I know eventually you will listen.  Here is a great Art Publication opportunity.  Don’t miss it…
