I have a food tattoo.  Not surprised, are you?  It wasn’t meant to be a food tattoo.  I spent a week in NYC while in the area for my grad school interviews.  So, I went to the Big Apple and decided the perfect souvenir would be to come home with a little apple.  Ridiculous, I know.  I’ve thought about expanding on the food theme, but I’d rather spend my money on food than tattoos, ha.  Plus, I’m a wimp when it comes to pain.  This next Call is interested on what’s on the body, not just tattoos.  Take a look…

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all U.S. artists

MEDIA: All media will be considered

DEADLINE:  January 3, 2016

NOTIFICATION:  January 11, 2016

ENTRY FEE: $25 for up to 3, $40 for 4-6.

JUROR:  Ruth Erickson is Assistant Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston. She recently opened the exhibition Leap Before You Look: Black Mountain College 1933-1957 at the ICA, & is working on an upcoming exhibition with Iranian artists Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh & Hesam Rahmanian & a survey of Mark Dion’s (2017). From 2004-2007, she was curator at BCA Center in Burlington, VT, and she received her Ph.D. in art history from the University of Pennsylvania.

SALES: All proceeds from art sales go to the artist. Gallery 263 acts as the liaison between the artist and any parties interested in purchasing artwork. However, they do suggest a 30% donation to the gallery from any sales made.
