CALL for ENTRIES: Bemis AiR

Learn more from Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts!OLIVES & more

I tend not to buy in bulk, despite the benefits, because I live in a very small apartment.  But, I am guilty of buy multiples.  There are too many varieties of olives, specifically, for me to resist.  I’ve gotten so carried away that part of my decision of what to buy is based on whether the jar is tall & skinny or short & fat.  Ridiculous.  The sponsors of this Call love artists so much, they invite them 10 at a time.  You could be one of the ten…

I have made my own uneasy peace with green living.  I would like to say it was an over whelming commitment to perserving the planet that started it all, but it was really food.  Isn’t it always with me?  I started to notice how out-of-my-control my food sources were becoming.  Pre-made sauces and pre-washed salad mixes were making me feel like I had forgotten what food really tastes like.  I began my quest to find a way to know what I was eating.  Now, I live a labor-instensive, farmers market going, whole food preparing, canning and preserving sort of life.  Is it easy? No.  Is it tasty? Absolutely.  This Call wants your earth inspired art.  Take a look…

Check out this Call for Entries for the 2013 ECO Art Awards.  There are six categories in which anyone can enter to win cash, prizes, national and international recognition–from songwriting to video and everything in between.  The entry fee is too bad; the prizes are good … and, you might get a warm green glow around your gills!

I refuse to be pigeon-holed as a “foodie.”  It isn’t bad.  I just think I wandered out of “foodie” territory across the border into “crazy-food-lady” land long ago.  I dream about the perfect head of garlic.  I would rather sit down eat cheese than do almost anything else in the world.  Dare I say it…I probably love food more than art.  I am so sorry.  I didn’t mean it.  Well, maybe just a little.  This next call doesn’t want to pigeon-hole your talents by labeling it all art.  Get a load of the categories…

Check out this Call for Entries from the Eco Art Awards.  I love that there are multiple categories you can enter.  The entry fee is expensive per piece, but the cash prize is nice.  At least take a look…
