TASTE perfection
These days most produce is waxy, cartoon-saturated perfection. Take baby-shaped carrots. We can’t handle carrots with their roots and imperfect skin, so now we whittle them down to miniature perfection. The other day I picked up a head of iceberg lettuce and promptly put it back down because it was pale-colored. I’ve been influenced too.
