MEDIA: Open to all media, i.e.: painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, mixed media, photography, installation & more.

DEADLINE: October 20, 2016

ENTRY FEE: $25 for up to 3, $30 for 5

JUROR: Hannah Stouffer is an American art director and visual artist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Born and raised in Aspen, CO, Stouffer relocated to CA in 1999.

With over 15 years experience in fine art and commercial illustration, design, writing, publishing, and curatorial production, Stouffer has proven to be a powerhouse in creative visual media. She is identified as both an art director and visual artist, having maintained a strong presence in both fields, commercially and with her own fine art.

AWARDS: Artists selected by the guest juror will receive a 2-page spread including a brief bio, website, and 2 images in print and digital formats. Published artists will receive a complimentary digital issue and will be listed on our website/social media.

SALES: The November issue will be available through their online shop as well as select bookstores nationwide (US).

I have plastic envy. Hoop houses are sprouting up all over town as pre-planning for chances of upcoming frost. Last year our first snow came in October. Locally lots of folks protect their late Summer plantings from possible early frost while also giving them space to start seedlings in colder weather. Once the ground is frozen, installation becomes a much more complicated project. My house hangs on the side of a mountain. The only flat space I have for a hoop house is my gravel driveway, ha. JUROR: Michael Kalmbach received his MFA in 2008. Shortly after graduation, he accepted a position at the Delaware College of Art & Design, and founded the New Wilmington Art Association, an artist collective that organized exhibitions in vacant spaces throughout the city of Wilmington from August 2008 to April 2013. In June 2011, he accepted a contract with the State of Delaware’s Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health to develop a space for artists on the behavioral health spectrum. Open since December 2011, the Creative Vision Factory fosters the creative potential of individuals with behavioral health disorders in a studio art environment, cultivating integration with the local community through a program of exhibitions, workshops, and communal space. Kalmbach maintains his own painting practice and has exhibited work in venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
