to me

Greek yogurt is clearly the fashionable food of the year.  We prefer Stonyfield Farm Organic.  I love it, but I am really tired of the commercials.  On my last grocery trip, I saw a new brand of hummus that said “Now with Greek Yogurt.”  Really?  Putting yogurt in hummus is like putting mayo in guacamole; just say no.  This next Call is about all that is stylish and fashionable.  Don’t miss this opportunity…

Check out this Call to Artists for Style and Fashion from the Linus Galleries (California). The exhibit offers an online listing as well as the possibility for a showing in one of their brick and mortar galleries. Take a look…

love

I am emotionally attached to goat cheese. I recognize how very irrational that is, but the fact remains that “I love goat cheese.”  I dream about it.  Eating herb-crusted goat cheese on freshly-backed foccacia with a few capers is the height of emotional eating for me.  It can take away almost ANY bad day.  No joke.  Luckily, my bad days are not too frequent, ha.  This next Call wants to know about your Emotional quirks.  Don’t miss this chance…

cross the road?

The best part of hitting the open road is, of course, the FOOD.  My practice is to spend a little time surveying the locals of where we are about the best place to eat.  Inevitably, I get a significant number of people that refer me to the same place.  And it always ends up being “the best breakfast” or “the best burger” in town.  Getting eggs right isn’t easy, folks, and I always appreciate a good reference.  This next Call is all about hitting the road.  Investigate for yourself…

CALL for ENTRIES: Shadows

OUCH!

I dislike overhead lighting, except in the kitchen.  Much of my home is dimly lit; I prefer soft lamp lighting.  But, my art studio and my kitchen are the exceptions.  I’ve injured myself with everything from an Xacto knife to myriad of small and large chef knives.  Lessons learned.  Shadows are not the best place to create fine art or fine food.  This next Call wants you to expose your shadows.  Whatcha think?

Shadows

As Joni Mitchell said, “Every picture has it’s shadows, and it has some source of light. Blindness, blindness and sight.”

Some see light and some see shadow.

Some see contrasts.

Some see the darkness.

What exists in the shadows?  What do you see?  Submit your best art with shadows for this future exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists.

MEDIA:  Photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, painting, drawing.
