I am addicted to salty crunch–but not in the way you would think.  It isn’t potato chips, although I do love them dearly.  No, I am newly addicted to bananas with peanut butter and chunky sea salt.  Odd, I know.  It was a happy accident, really.  We buy unsalted natural peanut butter and salt it ourselves.  And, when my salt grinder started acting up, I ended up with HUGE salt boulders on my bananas with peanut butter.  Now, they HAVE to be boulders.  This next Call might just appreciate my happy accident.  Check it out…

Road trips are not great for the fit of my performance clothing.  My husband and I are musicians, and we have a lot of shows for the summer.  Many of those shows require a drive of at least a few hours.  That means road food.  The danger is that I will eat french fries at every stop, punctuated by the occasional order of homemade potato chips.  I eat the eggs at Waffle House just to have an excuse to eat the hashbrowns.  I have a potato problem.  Can you tell.  it is going to be a long summer, ha.  This next Call is all about being on the road–not just the food that accompanies a road trip.  Take a look…

My tolerance for plastic-y foods is diminishing right along with the availability of beautiful greens in winter. I just want an Oreo® today.  I miss them.  Damn the wheat allergy.  I hear Glutino makes a fantastic chocolate sandwich cookie.  But, it can’t be an Oreo® can it?  If it could, it would just be called a gluten-free Oreo.  I might give in eventually if my kiddo insists, but for me it is a black and white issue.  This next Call is definitely a black and white issue as well.  Love this mag…

I have been on a personal voyage for the past 9 months, and there is no end in sight.  My father died in December, betrayed by his body and love of food that didn’t love him back.  My grandmother struggles with Alzheimer’s and the loss of both her memory and her appetite.  I have been battling my health and grappling with the loss of my decades-long love affair with wheat.  I can’t help but believe that it is all a voyage taking me to some unknown path that will be my future.  The voyage has already spurred new art.  Let the theme of this next Call take you on your own personal voyage.  Don’t miss the opportunity…
