Click to Subscribe to www.ArtAndArtDeadlines.com by Email!BEAUTIFUL,
you ARE what you EAT

Beauty is a perfectly golden crepe stuffed with mint-infused marscapone topped with a drizzle of warm, gooey dark chocolate.  But then again, somedays beauty is a turkey sandwich or a bowl of butternut squash soup or the perfect raspberry.  It is all about perspective and timing.  This Call for Entries wants to know how you see beauty.  I promise not to hold it against you if your image of beauty doesn’t involve food.  Say it with art…

Check out this Call for Entries for Beauty Comes in Many Forms from the Linus Galleries’ Irvine Gallery (Irvine, CA).  The acceptable media for this show is a cool mixture, and this could be a great opportunity for holiday art sales.  Take a look…

I love reading about food almost as much as cooking it and eating it.  Amongst my favorites are polar opposites:  Cooking Light and Food & Wine.  No surprise, I’ve had a bit of a struggle with my weight over the years.  In recent years, I’ve gotten better control of my food issues by figuring out one amazing fact… My menu is far more varied and exciting when I am trying to figure out how to do it in a healthy manner.  It was a fascinating personal discovery.  So, while I adore the gourmand Food & Wine, I am personally more likely to actually prepare foods found in Cooking Light.  This next call can make your work the tempting dessert on the cover of an art catalog.  Take a look…

STICKY SWEET

When I think of salt water taffy, I think of the mountains. Odd, eh? I suspect that salt water taffy got its start on seaside boardwalks, but it seems every small mountain town has a great little store front that lets you watch taffy being made. I know that here in Gatlinburg, there is more than one. I wonder if Blue Ridge, GA (home of this Call) has a taffy shop. Sounds like a great reason to attend the reception…

Check out this Call for Entries from the Southern Appalachian Artist Guild for their Annual National Juried Show which will be exhbiited in the Richard Low Evans Gallery in Blue Ridge, GA, one of “America’s Top Art Communities.” I know that discussing art sales is like talking about religion or politics in polite company (in bad taste), but I will say it anyway… this could be a great opportunity to sell some artwork.
