I am addicted to No Pudge Fudge brownie mix.  I’ve mentioned it before, I know.  They are the best brownies I’ve ever eaten (from a mix), and they are all natural.  It is the shortest ingredient list ever.  I’ve tried the original, raspberry and cappuccino, but I still haven’t tried the mint because I have to order them and have them shipped to me.  Food by mail isn’t usually my thing, but I may give in eventually.  However, in this next Call, no shipping is a HUGE advantage in my book.  Check it out…

The featured food at my house this week is Jona Gold apples ($.89/lb). Last month is was asparagus ($1.99/lb).  This whole month it has been apples, partly because of our proximity to an orchard, and partly due to price.  We’re heading toward Winter, and I’ll be eating $1 butternut squash for at least 2 months. In french cooking, sauce and knife skills are the beginning of all knowledge. You would be simply amazed by how many sauces start with a basic hollandaise. Similarly, horses are the foundation of many an art class. I had an art teacher that once said to me, “If you can master sketching a the complex form of the majestic horse, all of art is at your fingertips.” I never mastered sketching a horse, but I can make a mean hollandaise. Luckily, this next Call doesn’t require that I SKETCH a horse. Take a look…
