soup to BEANS

It is all a matter of taste, right?  I know that for every food there is someone who believes its tastes better than all other foods, but I still can’t quite resolve myself to the notion that some foods aren’t just objectively bad.  Warhol is famous for, among other things, depictions of a soup.  That same soup is the foundation for thousands of green bean casserole recipes.  SOMEone believes it to be “Mmm mmm good”, but I am not one of the some.  I don’t have a lot of food limits, aside from Century eggs and boiled okra, but just no.  It is a black and white issue for me –just like this next Call.  Investigate this opportunity…

Check out this Call for Entries from Art-Competition.net for Black & White Photography. $20 Entry & great marketing perks.  Field of winners narrowed to 18 photographers. Take a look…

CALL for ENTRIES: Black & White

Learn more from Art-Competition.net!ALL GREEN
no gray

Cilantro is a polarizing subject in my family.  It is all black and white–absolutely no gray area.  For more than 1/2 of my extended family, cilantro is nausea-inducing at the mere thought.  I, however, cannot imagine life without tomatillo & cilantro salsa.  (It contains nearly equal parts of each.)  I try not to judge them.  When I was younger, I always thought ginger tasted the same as I imagine lemon-scented furniture polish might taste.  Now I love it on nearly anything.  This next Call is an excellent reason to see all of the world in black and white.  You be the judge…

FOODS

Like everyone, I have kitchen horror stories.  I still relive slicing my finger open while opening a package of fish.  I rushed to the hospital hoping to have the “clean cut” glued instead of stitched so that it wouldn’t interfere with my looming art deadline, only to be left in the waiting room so long they couldn’t glue it.  Plus, there’s the horror of having burned everything imaginable.  BTW, the most expensive foods burn easiest.  You’ve got horror stories of you own, whether real or imagined, and this next Call wants to hear AND see them.  Take a look…

Check out this Call for Entries from Bruce Humphries for Art School Horror Stories (art publication).  You’ve either got stories of your own or have heard them from your peers.  So, here’s your chance to put them out there in either written word or image.  This should be fun…
