Grocery cashiers aren’t my biggest fans. They seem to take issue with my lack of packaging. Why do my two lemons need to be in a plastic bag? Onions come in their own wrapping. Why would I protect them from getting dirty when I am just going to peel them? Is it really that hard to corral my summer squash and carrots outside of a bag or box? JUROR: Todd Johnson is a conceptual and experimental photographer living and working in Portland, Oregon. His photographic work uses abstract metaphor, social critique, dark humor and personal narrative. Johnson received his MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. Todd is the founder and director of Black Box Gallery.
AWARDS: 24 photographs will be selected by the juror for exhibition at the gallery. An additional 30 photographs will be selected by the juror for exhibition in our on-line gallery annex. All 54 photographs from the show will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.
SALES: Black Box Gallery retains 50% commission.
