If you are an apartment or city dweller, it is exciting to trip across another fruit or veg that can grown in a container. A friend from Atlanta recently sent me pics of the grapevine she is growing in a container on her balcony. Potted grapes, seriously. The grapes aren’t miniature; it can just be grown a miniature scale. She claims it is going to produce fruit in its first year too! ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists 18+
MEDIA: Open to all fine art printmaking, including relief, intaglio, lithography, silkscreen, monotype, and letterpress will be accepted. Prints must be hand-pulled.
DEADLINE: August 5, 2017
NOTIFICATION: September 1, 2017
ENTRY FEE: $35 for up to3, $10 ea. add’l
JUROR: Jennifer Farrell, Assoc. Curator of Modern & Contemporary Prints & Illustrated Books, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY
AWARDS: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300 & 3rd Place $200. Purchase Purchase awards in the form of gift cards and/or merchandise are made from art supply retailers. The retailer presenting the award receives the selected print directly from MGC. This year’s supporters include: Awagami Paper Factory (100 sheets of editioning papers worth $500), DaVinci Artist Supply ($150 Gift Card) & Blick Art Materials ($100 Gift Card).
