I am not a painter (because I’m really bad at it), but I have a great love and appreciation for those that paint well–from representational to abstract.  I do use Liquitex gel mediums though.  So, here’s a great little opportunity from Liquitex that could result in a little free promotion for your work. (Please note, Liquitex is not currently a sponsor of this site.)

Liquitex is Looking for Acrylic Painters

Liquitex Artist of the Month Program is aimed at providing valuable Internet exposure for artists working primarily in acrylic paint. Each month one artist will be selected and featured on the Liquitex web site and Liquitex Facebook page. The work will be selected by a jury from entries received up to the last day of that month. Those entries not selected will be considered during following months. Slides can not be returned as this is an ongoing program.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. There is no entry fee.

2. Fill out and sign the form found here. If submitting an electronic version of the form, typing your name in the signature field will represent your signature.

Only your City, State, Email and Web Site will be published.

3. Submissions must include a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 images of recent work done primarily in acrylic, a short biography and an artists statement.

4. Images can be submitted via email, via your web site, a CD containing JPG files or slides

5. Emailed Images: Images must be 600 pixels wide or greater at 72 DPI. The email must Include information listing Title, Media and Year of each image.

6. CD: Images must be 600 pixels wide or greater at 72 DPI. Include an information sheet listing Title, Media and Year of each image. The CD will not be returned.

7. WEB: If you reference your web site, images must be able to be saved from your site at 600 pixels wide or greater. Include information listing Title, Media and Year.

The selected work and associated information will be featured on the Liquitex Artist of the Month Web Page and Liquitex Facebook Page for one month. The site may maintain an area of past winners. Artist information will also appear, listing artist name, City, State, Email and Website unless otherwise noted. Interested parties will be encouraged to contact the artist directly for sales. Liquitex will receive no commission.

Please note:  The current Artist of the Month on their website seems to be from November 2009.  I don’t know if they have suspended the program or if no one is submitting.  Let’s find out!
