Recipes are sort of like guide books for me. I have no interest in doing exactly what they say, but they are a great jumping-off point. There are exceptions, thousands of them. See “baking”. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists 18+
MEDIA: Open to 2-D work: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mineral pigments, print, charcoal, digital/multimedia art, mixed media, photography etc. (NO calligraphy, video, sculpture or collaborative work)
DEADLINE: March 31, 2017
NOTIFICATION: August 31, 2017
ENTRY FEE: $60 for 1, $100/2, $140/3 (student discount: $40 for 1, $70/2, $100/3)
JUROR: At the first round, a panel of five (5) jurors will evaluate the works as digital images. Ten (10) jurors will conduct the final round by evaluating the actual works in Tokyo. Click HERE for a complete list of jurors.
AWARDS: 1st prize $120,000, 2nd prize $30,000 & 3rd prize winner $20,000 + trophies, 4th prize $3,000, 5th $2,000 & 6th prize $1,000. (Students: 1st prize $20,000, 2nd prize $10,000 & 3rd prize winner $5,000 + Art Olympia original trophies, 4th prize $3,000, 5th $2,000 & 6th prize $1,000.)
