I’ve become a casual fan of Naked & Afraid (the TV show). When flipping through the channels, I keep tripping across the reruns. For those of you non-watchers. Two people (1 man, 1 woman) that have never met who are dropped in a remote location for 21 days with nothing–not even clothes. I am dumbfounded by what they will eat. Non-Fiction Gallery wants to bring the celebrity divine within reach. Rather than choosing the more obvious route of “large persona, larger artwork,” the gallery’s next juried show will feature the world’s favorite superstars on a pocket-sized scale. Show them your smallest works inspired by the biggest and boldest doyennes.

Chia seeds are fascinating. I have started using them to make raw, small-batch refrigerator jam from overripe fruit. Yum. The seeds are hydrophilic, absorbing up to 12 times their weight in liquid when soaked. While soaking, the seeds develop a mucilaginous gel-like coating that gives my jam a fantastic texture.
