FRUIT

My experience with pre-packaged instant food is sketchy at best.  You might find a box of instant oatmeal in my cabinet for lazy winter mornings.  But I find that some foods that are unnaturally dehydrated to the extreme never really recover, like cheese & coffee, while others thrive, like cocoa and popcorn.  I think of instant foods a little differently –preferring portable raw nuts, fruits, and even a few cheeses, best.  This time of year though, pomegranates are my favorite.  Just cut them in half, thump them with on spoon on the outside, and voilà –instant snackage.  This next Call wants your instant favorites.  Take a look…

“The word “smile” originates from the Middle English word “smilen”, which was probably from an early Scandinavian dialect, which later migrated to Jamaica where it evolved into the phrase, “we be smilen.”  Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer had two of the great smiles of all times.  I attended a Bob Marley concert years ago and everyone was smiling.  It gave me the same feeling I had watching my brother watch my nephew walk for the first time or watching my Dad watching Rodney Dangerfield or seeing the expressions of the loved ones of returning soldiers.  I remember once when my friend’s brother, during the Disco era, got a plaid leisure suit  — we were all smiling.  Smiling is universal and can be triggered by anything, especially photographs.” — from the A.
