I wish all food were pretty.  But, it isn’t.  I love lentil soup, but it tends to look like mud.  I love asparagus marinated in balsalmic vineager, but I tends to look like it has been sitting in motor oil.  Peas soup is heaven, but we won’t even talk about what it looks like.  Mud.  These foods are clear as mud.  This next Call will be clear a mud to a few of you.  Take a deep breath and remember that sometimes it is all worth it in the end.  Investigate, at least…

Gender roles and alcoholic beverages are laughable.  Out of town on business this week, I was sitting in the hotel bar watching women ordering glasses of wine and brightly-colored martinis while men ordered beer and brown liquors.  Really, people?  I know I live in the South, but do we really have to fulfill this stereotype.  Kudos to the couple in the corner– he ordered a daiquiri (umbrella included), and she order a shot of something brown.  You saved my night, folks.  This next call is all about challenging notions of gender.  Take a look…

I am the soup queen. I accidentally found out during a run of bad weather one winter during which we couldn’t make it to the grocery store that I am really good at making soup. I had a whole series of artwork happen because I accidentally put myself in a situation where I was trapped at home too. My point? Maybe life is just a series of accidents, and with any luck, maybe more of them will be happy than not. If you’ve accidentally (or purposefully) shot 10 seconds of good film, here’s your chance to put it to good use.
