I recently attended an “abstract” dinner party.  I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into, and that made me MORE eager to attend, ha.  Upon arrival, I found that every dish was comprised of food cut in an identical manner. I couldn’t tell cubes of potato from turnip or cubes of yellow carrot from summer squash.  From appetizer to entree to dessert, it was an evening of simple foods prepared with time-consuming precision.  I was forced to savor the preparation and intent since nothing was representational of its original form.  Abstract food.  Fascinating.
