Exhibits reflect a wide range of media and experimental approaches that offer the viewer unexpected interactions with art. The gallery is approximately 1,100 square feet with 16 ft. ceilings. Cooking is a constant exercise in recycling & upcycling in my house. A whole chicken will provide a dinner, chicken salad for lunch, broth for future soups, scraps for breakfast hash or lunch tacos plus a treat or three for the pup. Winter vegetables are a problem. I am allergic to parsnips, tired of ever-present potatoes, refuse to pay $6 for a head of cauliflower, and am the only person left on the planet not addicted to kale. This leaves the cabbage family, spinach –and Jerusalem artichokes. I can’t remember the last time I ate time had this lovely tuber. One of the best things about root vegetables is they are rarely bought excessively under-ripe, and since most folks roast or mash them, they are rarely too ripe. I’m not really a milk drinker –never have been. I use it in cooking and to make cheese, but by the glass is uncommon. It has in recent years, though, become helpful in the winter months. In the winter, my writing for AAAD & creating my own art (both visual & performing) keeps me indoors most of the time. My “pup” will eat anything. Pepper, my four-legged child, is going to be a pup of ten-years-old soon. As she gets older, there are fewer and fewer things she should eat. The food she loves is of the cheapest, most fast-food sort of variety. We limit her people food to fresh veggies & the occasional egg, but her dog food and treats have taken a huge turn. The cheapest of food causes the worst of skin allergies, but for the love of this animal, I’ll probably be making her food and treats before long.
