THEME: Dreams “artwork inspired by the artist’s visions of dreams –those windows into what might be called our subconscious reality. Reflections upon one’s dreams can have a short-term fleeting effect or a longer-term, even haunting, significance that influences one’s future choices and directions. . . . The artist might present a dream as a hazy, filtered reality from specific memories or from an explosion of abstract and surrealistic imagery –all of which may be emotionally captured as their own.”

Greenfield’s work has been exhibited extensively throughout the United States and internationally. His work deals primarily with the African American experience and in recent years has focused on the effects of stereotypes and racial politics on American culture.

I am addicted to cones of vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate. More accurately, I love the chocolate dipped diary, not the cone, but I have great respect for the edible nature of this delivery system. Why don’t we have more edible packaging? I don’t know either. (BTW, no, I do NOT want to know about the probably-scary, chemical explanation for why dipping chocolate hardens. Ignorance is bliss.) Four days out of seven find my family eating spicy foods. Before I quit smoking five years ago, I suspected my tolerance for spicy food came from my deadened taste buds.
