childhood FAVORITES.
I spent part of this weekend in a Virginia State Park. Every year the park lights their train tunnel and serves hot chocolate & s’mores while musicians echo familiar carols in the background. As the temperature dropped to the mid-thirties, I made my way to concessions & was handed a steaming paper cup with a plastic spoon to stir my powdered mix. After my first sugary sip, I was transported to my childhood, as if by time machine, complete with melted marshmallow mustache. JUROR: Lisa Crossman is a Boston-based art historian, curator & editor whose interests include supporting underrecognized mid-career & emerging artists & making art accessible to a broad public in fun & meaningful ways. In her current position as Koch Curatorial Fellow at the Fitchburg Art Museum, she’s organizing shows of regional contemporary art & collaborating with Fitchburg State University’s faculty & students.
AWARDS: First Prize $300, Second Prize $200 & Third Prize $150
