Food labeling and packaging is frustrating. First is that not every food item requires ridiculous packaging. My husband still gets the stink-eye from me every time he reaches for a produce bag for a single lemon or lime. Secondly, I’d like to know what’s in my food. Is it genetically modified? Is it sustainably farmed? I suspect I won’t see complete labeling in my lifetime. But, this next Call wants your ideas about sustainability. This could be a great chance to show your work in California…

CALL for ENTRIES:
WEST Summit and Showcase

SSV is hosting an art exhibition to visualize the idea or implementation of sustainability and to inspire positive change during this pivotal time in our history. SSV is looking for artists to submit digital images of their artworks that respond to these concepts. In addition to being exhibited in relation to the WEST Summit and Showcase, SSV is will use the accepted artworks to create a pool of images that may be used for current and future marketing campaigns in both print and online formats. Some examples for use of images are the WEST Summit/Showcase printed program, the SSV annual report and an ongoing sustainability awareness campaign.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists, regardless of location or age

MEDIA: Open to all media that can be represented in a digital photograph

DEADLINE: February 5, 2003 (5pm Pacific Standard Time)

NOTIFICATION: March 4, 2013

ENTRY FEE: None

AWARDS: Accepted images will be exhibited in relation to the 2012 WEST Summit and Showcase and entered into the SSV Image Marketing Pool and may be used for other SSV marketing initiatives.
