TABLE for ONE
I am an only child, and I don’t share well… in the kitchen or any where else. I am the mother of an only child, and I have tried to teach him to be more tolerant and better able to share. But honestly, he’s better at it than me. My husband does most of the cooking in our house, and he is much better at sharing than I am as well, ha. He kindly allows me to cook for the family in his kitchen on occasion, and every once in a while, we collaborate. This next Call wants your collaborations. Play nice, folks…
Check out this Call for Entries from Brooklyn Artists Gym (BAG) in Brooklyn, NY for Collaboration. The entry fee is really cheap, too. Love this theme…

CALL for ENTRIES: Collaboration
Christo and Jeanne Claude. McCartney and Lennon. Cookies and milk. In collaboration, sometimes a sum is greater than its individual parts. Compelling works of art have often been produced by the meeting of two creative minds, or as a result of one artist’s exposure to the work of another.
Historically, schools of art were a breeding ground for new ideas, where artists could learn from their masters and grow from one another, bringing the large world in a little closer. To share images and ideas over distances was difficult, but expected as part of one’s training. It was simply a stepping stone to individual fame.
In the age of Flickr, Facebook, and hostyourdomain.com, artists may now share their work with the world at the touch of a button. We can choose to bridge an ocean in an instant, or to isolate our work entirely. It is entirely yours to decide. So the choice to collaborate may now be deliberate; choosing to ‘share’ can be more profound than an RSS feed, more mindful than physical proximity, and more creative than working alone.
