Well, WHIP MY EGGS
Eggs are are simply hope in food form. From a simple, inexpensive carton eggs can become a homemade mayonnaise, luxurious hollandaise, a bright spring quiche, comfortable omelettes a beautiful, decadently creamy custard just to name a few. I simple love poached eggs with a little sprinkle of fresh-cracked black pepper, but homemade garlicky mayo for a home-grown tomato sandwich runs a close second. CALL for ENTRIES: Hope
Hope is the first in a three part photo series focusing on the positive aspects of life. Hope can be poignant as well as fanciful or even humorous. Hope is one of most powerful emotions, sustaining the impossible and giving life to the unlikely. Howard Avenue Arts Incubator want to see the hope you see through your lens.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all photographers 18 years of age and older.

NOTIFICATION: October 24, 2011
ENTRY FEE: $35 for first three images, $10 for each additional image
JURORS: Catriona Fraser is the owner and Director of the Fraser Gallery. Ms. Fraser serves on the Bethesda Arts and Entertainment District Advisory Panel and on the Board of the Washington School of Photography. Ms. Fraser has served on the Advisory Panel for the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County and is Chair of the Trawick Prize, Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards, a fine art competition that awards $14,000 in prize money to artists residing in Maryland, Washington D.C and Virginia. She is also Chair of the Bethesda Painting Awards, an annual competition that awards $14,000 in prize money to painters residing in D.C, Maryland and Virginia. Ms. Fraser is the Director of the annual Bethesda Fine Arts Festival and served as the President of the Art Dealers Association of Greater Washington from 2009 – 2011.
AWARDS: All accepted work will be exhibited in the DC area gallery. Best in Show – $500, Second place- $250, Third Place – $100, Ten Honorable Mentions. At the end of the exhibition series, all awardee’s photos from each of the three shows will be published as a photo book made available for sale. The top three awardees of each show will be presented with a complimentary copy of the book. All accepted work will also be featured on our website, facebook page, and blog.
SALES: All work must be for sale at prices set by the artist. The Howard Avenue Arts Incubator retains a commission of 40% of sales price. Payment to the artist will be mailed within 30 days after receipt of proceeds from sales. Prices should be an accurate reflection of the artist’s sales history and therefore should not be inflated.
