CALL for ENTRIES: Method Art Juried Photography Competition
Call to both amateur and professional photographers for a juried photographic exhibition titled: “Dog Days of Summer.” Apply for a chance to show your work at one of the newest and most exciting galleries in the heart of the Scottsdale Arts District. This area is the 4th largest art district in the United States, guaranteeing your work to be seen by many art lovers. Method Art is a gallery where photography is not only strongly supported, but also highly celebrated.
This opportunity also includes exposure of your work during Scottsdale Artwalk every Thursday nights. This has been a 30 year long tradition of over 70 galleries opening up their doors to a large variety of artists and artwork. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to showcase your work among many other artists in an extremely popular art district.
ELIGIBILITY: This competition is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years or older as of the date the competition begins.
Categores include:
Professional Photographers – Anyone who makes a living or partial living as a photographer in any field.
Amateur Photographers – From beginner to enthusiasts and students. Anyone who has a passion for photography but does not earn any money from it.
Process Photographers – Where the development process is just as important as the composition. Traditional processes, mixed media, or alternative processes.
Sub categories are: landscape, nature, portrait, travel, action, macro, editorial and abstract.
MEDIA: The competition is open to both film and digital photography. This theme is open to interpretation and can include anything from hot summer landscapes, to portraits, summer gatherings, or anything else relevant to the summer season.
DEADLINE: June 30th, 2011
NOTIFICATION: On or about July 2nd, 2011
ENTRY FEE: Up to 5 submissions into the competition cost the competitor $30.00, additional photograph submissions are $10.00 for 5 more and $20.00 for 10 more.
JURORS: Preliminary judging will be done by a panel of judges chosen by Method Art. The decisions of the judges are final and binding.

AWARDS: The cash prize fund is 10% of the total submission funds divided 4 ways for each category. The estimated cash prize is $500 for each category.
Up to 40 finalists will be selected from all eligible submissions. The 40 finalists will have their art work shown in Method Art Gallery for 60 days. The top artist in each category will have their art work shown in Method Art for one year.
