STEAM ME UP, SCOTTY!
I know you are of you Starbucks-aholics are shuddering, but we don’t own a coffee pot. I am not a coffee drinker, and the smell of brewing coffee makes me a touch nauseous. So, when Jon wants coffee, he either uses our French press which can take a little while, or we just pick it up on the way in to work. Did you know that even our convenience store has a barista? No joke. Jon’s coffee came with a beautiful heart-shaped cloud of cream.

This show is brought to you by the folks a A Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas. The deadline is October 19th, but you can email your entries and pay fees by PayPal…so hurry!

“When looking back at my images, I was amazed at how many of them contained spheres and circles. It was not intentional. It just happened. The circles and spheres were sometimes the center of interest in the image, but often they played more of a subtle supporting role or were maybe just implied. And then there is my series of round images made with a fisheye……”
Circles and spheres are an integral part of our lives. From the wheels on our cars to the cup you pour your morning coffee into, circles appear everywhere. So, look around you right now. How many circles or spheres do you see?
JUROR: Carla Ellard will be the juror of “Spherical”. Carla received her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Texas-Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Photography at East Texas State University. She has been the Assistant Curator, Southwestern & Mexican Photography, at the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos for the past ten years. She has curated several shows from the Wittliff Collections, including Art of the Tintype and 45 Photographs of masterworks from the permanent collections.
MEDIA: This exhibition is open to all photographers working in all mediums and styles.
AWARDS: Forty five images will be selected for exhibition and a Blurb full color catalogue of the exhibit with all the accepted entries will be available for purchase. Awards are $250 for Jurors Choice, $250 Creativity Award to be chosen by the gallery director, $100 for Visitors Choice and five Honorable Mentions.
