Fabrik Magazine announces a juried competition, open to artists in all media.
The world is full of artists. How to rise above the sheer numbers of the masses is becoming increasingly difficult. Fabrik Magazine and The Factory Gallery in Los Angeles are offering artists the opportunity to gain valuable exposure for their work both in print and in exhibition through this competition.
The selected winners will receive prizes that includes editorial and ad exposure through Fabrik Magazine – LA’s leading Art and Design publication – as well as an exhibition at The Factory Gallery in Los Angeles. Winners will also gain tremendous exposure by being promoted to 30,000 Interior Designers, Art Consultants and Galleries who are seeking art and artists across the United States.
Submissions from all artists in any medium are eligible. This contest will help nurture and promote the winners by featuring one new artist in every print and online issues of Fabrik Magazine.
Many leading artists have been interviewed and showcased within Fabrik’s pages, including Ed Ruscha, Julius Shulman, Philippe Starck, Juergen Nogai, Jorge Pardo, Jim McHugh and many others. Now you can be included alongside these prominent artists.

ABOUT THE JURORS
Robert Berman – Director, Robert Berman Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. Robert Berman is the founder and owner of Robert Berman Gallery and was early on exhibiting artists such as Keith Haring and Raymond Pettibon. Robert has curated historical and seminal exhibitions by such artists as William S. Burroughs and Man Ray.
Hossein Farmani – Founder and Chairman, International Photography Awards (Lucie Awards). Hossein Farmani is Founder and Chairman of The Lucie Awards, Co-Founder of Focus on Aids and Co-Founder of The Palm Springs Photo Festival. He is Principal of The Farmani Group, whose roster of companies include PX3 (Prix de la Photographie Paris), The International Design Awards (IDA) , FYI Design, Asterisk Press, The International Photography Awards (IPA) and The Farmani Gallery.
Peter Frank – Art Critic and Senior Curator, Riverside Art Museum. Peter Frank is an Art Critic and Senior Curator at the Riverside Art Museum. Peter has written regularly for the LA Weekly, Angeleno Magazine, THE Magazine and is Associate Editor for Fabrik. He was born in New York, where he served as Art Critic for The Village Voice and The SoHo Weekly News before moving to Los Angeles in 1988.
Chris Davies – Publisher and Curator. Chris Davies is an award-winning designer and founder of Fabrik Magazine. He founded The Factory Gallery in the Arts District of downtown LA, as a way to nurture and promote emerging and established artists. He is also founder of Skylark Press, a publisher of fine art monographs and limited editions.
Dale Youngman – VP Marketing, Fabrik Magazine and Gallery Director at The Factory Gallery. Dale Youngman is the former director and curator of the Regent Gallery and the Dale Youngman Gallery of downtown Los Angeles. She currently is the VP of Marketing for Fabrik Magazine and Gallery Director at The Factory.
